Reporting an error — the most useful thing you can send

If a calculator gives you an answer you believe is wrong, please tell us. Include:

  • the page address,
  • the values you entered,
  • the answer you got and the answer you expected,
  • and, if you have one, the source that supports your figure.

That last line is the one that settles it quickly. We check the report against the primary source the page was built from, fix it if you are right, add a test so the same mistake cannot come back, and record it on the corrections page. You get a reply either way — including the reasoning and the source if we disagree.

What we cannot do

We cannot interpret your results, and we cannot give you advice about your own situation.

That means we cannot tell you what a blood test result means for you, whether a dose is right for a patient, whether a loan is a good idea, whether a bolt or a beam is strong enough for your job, or whether a simulation result is trustworthy. Not because we are being unhelpful — because answering any of those properly needs someone who can see your full situation, and is qualified and accountable for the answer.

For a health question, speak to a doctor or pharmacist. For money, a licensed adviser. For anything load-bearing, electrical or safety-related, a qualified engineer or electrician. If you are unwell or worried about a result, contact a doctor or your local emergency service rather than emailing us.

Other things we are glad to hear about

  • A calculator you wish existed. Tell us what you needed and could not find. Suggestions genuinely shape what gets built next.
  • A page that is confusing, or missing an assumption it should state. If you could not tell what a page assumed, that is a fault in the page.
  • Something broken — a page that will not load, a result that does not appear, a layout that breaks on your phone. Say which browser and device, it helps.
  • Privacy requests — access, correction or deletion of data we hold. Send these by email so they are logged; see the privacy policy.
  • Permission to reuse content beyond quoting with attribution. See the terms of use.

What we do not accept

CalcEngines does not take paid placements, sponsored calculators, guest posts, link exchanges, or payment to recommend a product. Advertising on the site has no influence on the formulas, sources or conclusions on any page, and we intend to keep it that way — so please do not send these offers. They will not get a reply.

Replies

The site is small and email is answered by a person rather than a team, so a reply may take a few days. Error reports are read first — a wrong number on a live page matters more than anything else in the inbox.

Privacy requests are answered within the period the law requires: 30 days under the GDPR, 45 days under California law.
