Drug Reconstitution Calculator A powder vial, the diluent you add and the displacement volume the manufacturer states, worked into the final concentration in mg/mL, the volume to draw up for a dose that has already been prescribed, and the volume left behind. The displacement volume is the point: adding 5.6 mL of water to a 600 mg benzylpenicillin vial gives 6.0 mL of solution and 100 mg/mL, not 5.6 mL and 107 mg/mL, and this page shows both figures and the error between them. It does not decide the dose. Fluid Balance Chart Calculator Totals a fluid balance chart over a shift or 24 hours: oral, intravenous, feed and flushes in; urine, drains, vomit and stool out; an insensible loss you can set; and a net balance whose sign is stated in words as well as in a minus sign. It carries a previous figure forward for the cumulative balance, and it converts the urine row into mL/kg/h against the oliguria thresholds. It adds up a chart that has already been written. It does not prescribe fluid. Infusion Pump Rate Calculator (mL/h) The mL/h to set on the pump for a dose already prescribed in mcg/kg/min, mg/kg/h, units/kg/h or a flat rate — with the concentration, the dose read back in several units so a factor of sixty or a thousand cannot hide, how long the bag lasts, and the dose a pump already running is actually delivering. Infusion Time & Remaining Volume Calculator How much is left in the bag, how long it has to run, what time it will finish, and the rate it would take to finish by a deadline — all four at once, from the volume, the rate and the time elapsed. Hours and minutes, not decimal hours, and the page prints back the reading it took. IV Drip Rate Calculator (drops per minute) Drops per minute for a gravity infusion from the volume, the time and the giving set’s drop factor — with the exact figure, the whole drops you can actually count, and what the rounding costs you in mL per hour. Works backwards too: count the drops on a running line and see the rate that is really going in. Oxygen Cylinder Duration Calculator How long an oxygen cylinder will last at a given flow, worked from the gauge pressure and the cylinder's own conversion factor, with a reserve margin you set and a plain yes or no against the transfer time you actually need. The conversion factors are BOC's published nominal contents divided by BOC's published nominal pressures, size by size, and the page shows that division rather than hiding it — because the same letter means a different cylinder in a different country, and a borrowed factor is a wrong answer that looks right. Syringe Driver Rate Calculator A continuous subcutaneous infusion made up to a final volume and run over a set period, converted into the number you actually set on the device — in mL per hour for a T34-type pump, in mm per hour for a Graseby MS16A, or in mm per 24 hours for a Graseby MS26. Those last two differ by a factor of exactly 24 for the same infusion, confusing them has killed people, and this page prints all three settings every time so that the convention can never be assumed. It computes a rate from a prescription; it does not decide what to give. Other sections Growth & Paediatrics 1 Nutrition Support 5 Pregnancy & Obstetrics 3 Browse and search all calculators →
