Batting Strike Rate and Average Calculator A batting average is runs per DISMISSAL, not runs per innings, so a not-out innings adds runs and no denominator. With one dismissal and 300 runs the average is 300. Strike rate here is runs per 100 balls — a bowler's strike rate is a different quantity in different units. Bowling Economy, Average and Strike Rate Calculator Three bowling rates from one set of figures: economy rate in runs per over, average in runs per wicket, strike rate in BALLS per wicket. Overs and balls are entered separately, because 9.4 overs is 58 balls and not 9.4. Bowling Figures and Maiden Overs Calculator The R in a bowling analysis is the runs DEBITED to the bowler, not the runs scored off their overs. Wides and no-balls are debited; byes and leg byes are not — which is why an over containing two leg byes is still a maiden and an over containing one wide is not. Cricket Run Rate Calculator Runs per over, worked from the overs and balls on the scorecard rather than from the scorecard figure read as a decimal. An over is six balls, so 19.4 means 19 overs and four balls — 19.667 overs, and treating it as 19.4 makes the run rate 1.4% too high. Dismissal Methods Interpreter The ten ways a batter can be out, with the Law that governs each, whether the bowler is credited and whether the dismissal survives a no ball or a wide. Timed out and retired out are different things, and neither is the bowler's. Duckworth–Lewis–Stern (DLS) Explainer What the DLS method does, why a simple run-rate target is unfair to the side chasing, and where your official revised target actually comes from. This page deliberately computes no target: the current Professional Edition's resource values are not published and its software is not sold. Follow-On Margin Interpreter The lead a side needs before it can enforce the follow-on is not one number. Law 14 sets four, by the scheduled length of the match — 200, 150, 100 and 75 runs — and losing the whole first day moves a match down a step, so a Test that starts on day two needs 150. Net Run Rate (NRR) Calculator Net run rate as the ICC defines it: runs per over scored across the whole group, less runs per over conceded across the whole group. Aggregated, not averaged — and a side bowled out counts as having faced its full quota of overs, which is the rule that decides qualification. No Ball, Free Hit and Wide Interpreter What each call actually costs: the penalty, whether the ball counts towards the six, who it is debited to and which dismissals survive it. One delivery — a ball over the striker's head — is called three different things by three documents all current on 12 October 2026. Over Rate and Overs Short Calculator How many overs the fielding side was short of the minimum, after the time allowances the playing conditions actually grant — two minutes a wicket, four a drinks break. The required rate is an input, because 15 an hour in a Test and 14.28 in an ODI are different numbers. Overs to Balls Converter Balls to overs and back, with the part-over notation made explicit. A scorecard's 19.4 is 118 balls and 19.667 overs, never 19.4 overs. The historical over lengths are here too, because six balls has not always been the number. Partnership and Run Contribution Calculator A partnership's runs include the extras conceded while the two batters were together, so their own scores do not add up to the partnership total. This page takes the extras as an input and refuses to answer until the three parts add to the total exactly. Powerplay and Over Limits Interpreter How many fielders may stand outside the circle in this over, and who says so. “The powerplay is the first six overs” is true of a full Twenty20 international and wrong for a shortened one — and the ICC and the ECB shorten it differently, so the competition is an input here. Required Run Rate and Target Calculator Runs still needed, balls remaining and the run rate the chase now has to manage. Overs and balls are entered separately, because a scorecard's 42.3 is 42 overs and three balls and dividing by 42.3 gets the chase wrong. Super Over and Tie Resolution Interpreter What happens when the scores finish level, and what used to happen. The boundary-count rule decided the 2019 World Cup final and was abolished that October: a tied Super Over in a knockout is now replayed until somebody wins, and a tied group match is simply a tie. Test Championship Points Percentage Calculator The World Test Championship table is ordered on the percentage of available points won, not on points, because sides play unequal numbers of Tests. Twelve points a win, four a draw, six a tie, twelve available every match — and over-rate deductions come straight off the top.
