Championship Points Systems Calculator A season of finishing positions totalled under a points system you choose, with the total under every other system printed beside it. Formula One alone currently has four — the four columns of one article, selected by how far the race got — and they do not order a championship the same way. Lap Time and Average Speed Calculator A lap time and a circuit's lap distance turned into an average speed, in km/h, mph and m/s. The lap time is typed as whole minutes and seconds-with-thousandths, because the calculator has no text type and cannot read a colon. Lap distances in the examples are the FIA's own licensed figures. Motorsport Flag and Penalty Interpreter What each racing flag published in Appendix H to the FIA International Sporting Code actually means, in the FIA's own words, with the two that mean different things in practice and in the race separated out. Three of them are addressed to one named car and carry a penalty or a warning. Pit Stop Time Loss Calculator The number television shows you is the stationary time. The number that costs you places is the total time lost: the stationary time plus the difference between crossing the pit lane at the speed limit and covering the same stretch at racing speed. A 2.4-second stop can cost 14.4 seconds. Qualifying Format and 107% Rule Interpreter Three published Formula One qualifying formats side by side — the 2026 Standard Format, Sprint Qualifying and the 2016 hour — answering four questions each: how long each part runs, how many cars go out, how the grid order is built, and when a lap is too slow to start the race. Race Distance and Lap Count Calculator Formula One sets a race at the least number of complete laps that EXCEED 305 km, which is a ceiling and not a rounding. Enter a lap distance and the page gives the lap count, the scheduled distance it comes to, and what rounding up instead would have given. Race Suspension and Virtual Safety Car Interpreter What a virtual safety car, a red flag and the two-hour limit actually require, in the FIA's own words, and which column of the points table a shortened race then selects. The Safety Car's own articles could not be read and are quoted nowhere here, which is said on the page. Sector Times and Theoretical Best Lap Calculator Three best sector times added together give a theoretical best lap — a lap nobody drove. The page computes it, prints the gap to the lap that was actually driven, and says plainly what the figure is not. Worked on the FIA's own sector sheet for the 2026 British Grand Prix.
