Clinically, ceruloplasmin is the primary screening test for Wilson’s Disease, a rare genetic disorder of copper metabolism where ceruloplasmin levels are typically low ($< 20 \text{ mg/dL}$). Conversely, as a positive acute-phase reactant, levels rise during inflammation, infection, pregnancy, and estrogen therapy.
