Monocytes (MONO %) and AMC Calculator
Monocyte Percentage (MONO %) represents the proportion of monocytes, which are the largest type of white blood cell (WBC) and precursors to macrophages. Monocytes are critical for fighting chronic infections and removing damaged tissue.
The percentage is used for differential analysis, but the Absolute Monocyte Count (AMC) is the required clinical metric for monitoring chronic inflammation, autoimmune disorders, and certain leukemias.
Input: Monocyte Percentage
Core ValuePercentage of total WBCs.
Calculate Absolute Count (AMC)
Clinical Context
Reference Range (Adults):
• MONO %: 2% – 10%
• AMC: 0.2 – 1.0 × 109 / L
(200 – 1,000 / µL)
Monocytosis (AMC > 1.0 × 109 / L) often signals chronic diseases like tuberculosis or Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML). The AMC is calculated by multiplying the WBC count by the Monocyte Fraction.

How to Use This Calculator
Use the percentage from your blood test along with the total WBC count.
Input Percent & WBC
Enter the Monocyte Percentage (e.g., 6) and the Total WBC count (e.g., 5.0) from your Complete Blood Count (CBC).
Calculate AMC
The calculator instantly determines the Absolute Monocyte Count in the clinical standard unit (× 109 / L or × 103 / µL).
Unit Equivalence
Note that 1 × 109 / L is numerically identical to 1 × 103 / µL.
